The South is known for its hot weather in during the summer months but the heat has been very extreme this summer. This summer may even be the hottest summer on record. In Alabama, June and July were the hottest on record with eight days with temperatures over 90 degrees. They had a forty-eight day streak with temperatures in the 90’s.
This topic relates to science and biology through global warming and ecology. Since temperatures seem to be increasing, it is no doubt that global warming is the cause. If temperatures increase, it may endanger species and if one species is endangered, many others will be affected as well.
We should care about this because it is the earth in which we thrive off. If temperatures continue to increase, living conditions will become worse for all living organisms. This is a sign that humans must reduce and reuse. It is humans who release the pollution into the air so we must realize this and change our lifestyles to fit in with Earth’s ways.
