Oyster Herpes Deaths Tied to Global Warming

This summer, a type of herpes is killing innumerable oysters, and the increase number of herpes was cause by the global warming. According to the new study, the virus has already infected a wide range of oysters throughout the world. And 20 to 100 percent of oysters in French oyster beds had been already destroyed. The virus now is spreading through the world; even California has tested positive for herpes. The only good news for now is that the herpes now only infecting the shellfish, haven’t caused any damage to the reproduction of the fish species.

This article is related to biology because oysters are almost likely to be the primary consumer of the ecosystem, which have a very big influence of the ecosystem. Once this primary consumer is gone, then the energy that should be flowing in the ecosystem will decrease, and this will be very harmful to the human society.

This article contains a very serious issue that we really need to address, and the issue is global warming. As the human technologies in the 21st century growing rapidly, we have cause many damages to our planet. The water temperature begins to rise; the increase of herpes and the increasing number of death of oysters are both due to this condition. Human now should be glad that the herpes only infecting the oysters and not other marine species too, because if that happen the whole ecosystem on the earth will be ruin.
