Life Raft Makes Sea Water Drinkable

Can you believe that there is a young girl who was just like the other kids spending her summer with her parent on the sailboat and now she discovered a way to turn the seemingly endless ocean into viable drinking water? This girl from Massachusetts had designed a life raft can be able to turn sea water into fresh water. First the person use the raft to operates the hand pumps within the cabin to draw sea water into a plastic reservoir on the roof. Then the heat from the sun cause the water evaporates and the fresh water will be collected in containers within the raft’s walls. Basically the design of the raft is putting desalination water and life raft together to make the new product called Sea Kettle.

This article is related to science and biology, because the designer knows how to use the heat from the sun to turn salt-water to fresh water. The designer understands that when the heat from the sun heats the water, the water will evaporate, and the evaporated water is the fresh water that is drinkable. This process called evaporation which is related to science.

We should care about this information because this new tool can help us survive in the middle of the sea with fresh water, so we don’t have to die for drinkable water. And this article also shows that sometimes we don’t need to use advanced technologies to make our life better. Something as simple as this life raft can also make like easier.
