New researchers have found a new method that allows clinicians to even use a higher dose of a toxic chemotherapy drug for cancer patients. This drug is known as cisplatin, it is very affordable but a lot of clinicians doubt using it on patients due to its toxity. Originally the drug would be toxic to both the tumors and the patient's kidneys. But there is hope, researchers are finding a way to accumulate the platinum toxic in the tumors while blocking that same platinum from reaching the kidneys. A doctor by the name of Shiladitya Sengupta, a Harvard professor of medicine gathered team that designed a polymer that binds to cisplatin, andby stringing together enough cistaplin the new product became too large to enter the kidney.
This shows latest science that is taing place right here i Boston, new breakthroughs that are helping us fight cancers of a ll sorts. This relates to blood vessels and molecules. the passage of some molecules through the kidneys can be very challenging because of the size of that moleules. This is similar to the passage of certain molecules in a cell, and active or passively if a cell can't allow certain sizes to enter than it will not be able to.
It is predicted that in this upcoming generation all of us will more often than nt know someone who has cancer. The treatmnts that are taking place can help us cope with those lost ones and can give us a sense of light at the end of the tunnel. This affects our daily lives and close ones. We live in the city known for finding treatments for cancer and we can use that to our advantage. With the new science and technology that is taking place to help prevent and eventually stop the spread of cancer cells, someday we might be able to reverse the prediction about the cancer rates in our generation.
