High heels can shrink muscle, thicken tendons

Who would have thought that your feet would have to pay for looking nice. A new study shows that by wearing high heels on a daily basis it can change the muscles and tendons in your legs. Most of the people who are at risk for this are women who wear heels almost every single day. By wearing them it can still cause discomfort. When the muscles and tendons change it can make wearing flip-flops and flats very uncomfortable and painful.

This relates to science and biology because of how the muscles and tendons change shape. If you wear high heels that are two inches or higher for five or more days it can shrink your calf muscle fibers by thirteen percent. It can can also make your Achilles tendon thicker by twenty-two percent.

We should care because I don't think anyone would want to live with feet pain for the rest of their life. Now that we know high heels change our muscles and tendons than we can prevent all of the pain that will come out of wearing them.
