Deadly Bat Fungus !

Scientist say that if a deadly fungus continues to spread, one of North America's most common bats will die out in just 20 years. It is called the white-nose syndrome because it appears on their noses wings, and ears and it disrupts their hybernation and makes them burn all their fat reserve. In the end, they die at an alarming rate,''almost 75 percent a year in affected colonies''.

This is related to biology because it has to do with the population of bats in America and about an epidemic that could wipe them all out which would have a disastrous cause and effect situation on the environment and even humans. They help by eating insects that damage crops, spread disease, and that generally bother people.

We should care because it has already infected nine different bat species. That is nine too many in my book. It is important that something is done to help them because their regional populations are in danger of becoming extinct. Also, its been shown to be becoming a continental problem so it's spreading pretty quickly. Furthermore, there is also no cure so people should get on that fast. Bats also help the environment by keeping insect populations at bay so if they all become extinct, we would have an overpopulation of insects such as mosquitos.
