New Protein Drugs

Scientists have found a new way to help proteins get inside the cell. It can get past the barrier which keeps them from entering cells and doing their work inside the cell. Most of all the blockbuster drugs that are proteins worked on the exterior of the cell instead of the interior. The solution is to attach a protein to a charged green fluorescent protein. Because of the negative charge inside the cell, the positive charge protein will get pulled inside the cell by the negative charge called proteoglycans. This helps to carry the protein to their locations that they were suppose to go and perform their functions.

This relates to the biology concept by that it talks about small cells inside our body. This is cell biology. Cells are the smallest unit of life. Your body has billions of cells in order for your body to function. Every living thing is made of cells. So, we must learn about cell and their functions in our life.

This is important because when we understand more about cells, we can use different kinds of drugs to help it correctly function. Understanding how the cell work and the charges can help us. We can produce new types of medicine to aid us. It also help us understand how it transforms and treat diseases.
