“Forensic science braces for change”

Forensic science is usually used to solve crimes, that lead to persecuting the offender. But what if one of the tests were done incorrectly, and the person who didn’t commit the crime is accused? Well this question is the main reason why the Federal Bureau of Investigation laboratory, thinks Forensic Science can be faulty. They believe that the new techniques they use to solve cases needs to be further tested.

This relates to science and biology through the topic of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). New techniques being used by forensic scientists’, are shown to be unwanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation laboratory and society because it hasn’t been tested long enough. A new technique that has been discovered will allow DNA to be tested at the site of the crime rather than days or weeks later, but due to the strict policy changes like these may not be able to happen.

These new techniques used in forensic science are important to society because if the operation is faulty someone may be falsely accused. Although, the new techniques may need more testing they can also be helpful because they can speed up the DNA testing process, which can lead to a faster persecution.
