Staying Negative: How an Unexpected Antiretroviral Result Is Reshaping the Battle Against AIDS

AIDS has been one of the most deadliest diseases in the last few decades or so!! But how can you stay negative... Scientist are working on a vaccine that is an antiretroviral-based vaginal microbicide gel, the same agent that was used to create a treatment to slow down the virus. Scientist have discovered that 1 in 10 African before the age of 16 will have contracted HIV, and by the age of 24 one in two will have contracted HIV. But now they have discovered ways to reduce the infection rate by 39 percent in south Africa. Scientist are trying to mix the the drugs they use to treat HIV (ARV) medication tenofovir with the new ARV-based prevention therapies such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to prevent HIV.
Science has advanced since the 70s and now Technology is on our side and we've discovered ways to reduce HIV related death. Cancer and other viruses are also being treated but not like HIV. MILLIONS of people die yearly from HIV. It's very hard to prevent HIV because people have sex, the only way to prevent deaths is the Vaccine. If we don't continue to find cures for these disease!!! We can erase the Human race
Teens have sex! Teens do drugs! Teens have a high risk of contracting an STD! Thousands of people cheat on their spouses, and contract an STD such as AIDS look at Magic Johnson, he's human! No one is famous or too COOL to get an STD. Protection is the key, most of us know a loved one that is dying of an STD and these scientist are working hard on protecting us. Most likely some of us will contract an STD in our lifetime and we would want to know ways to remain alive. sooo STAY protected!!!!!!
