Immunity ; The driver of Parkinsons ?

After a 20-year study and 4,000 patients, clinics in Oregon, Washington, New York, and Georgia have found a link between genes found in our immune systems and the Parkinson's disease. In this Article, Researchers have stated that special genes called HLA, or better known as Human Leukocyte Antigen, can both help fight infectious diseases and/or can prompt disorders that actually attacks the body's own tissues. Researchers also say that with the new information found with the studies, it will be easier to find a more effective drug to treating the deadly disease.

This topic relates to biology/science concepts because this is a new breakthrough in health. It has to do with the study of life and helping save peoples lives. From the body to its functions. The immune system and the to disease , it all relates to biology. The Immune System is the body's defense and without it we would be dead. The defense of the body as all to do with biology.

This new found information can help scientists to either slow down or even prevent the rate of Parkinson's Disease. Since more than 50,000 Americans are diagnosed with the disease every year, scientists could make drugs that could change the world ! On top of that patients with Parkinson's have to spend nearly $2,500 a year on medications and an additional $100,000 on therapeutic surgery. Not only will this discovery save lives it will save people a little , or should i say alot, of extra money.
