Global Warming Attacks Yet Again !

Scientists are saying that Indonesia's coral reefs are dying. Many may think that they are dying because of the 2004 tsunami , but scientists are saying it is because of rising temperatures. Not only are the reefs dying but they are dying at an alarming rate. Researchers are saying that the waters of the Andaman Seas increased by 7 degrees ! That may not seem like a lot to us, but to the marine life thats a drastic change of their environment. This has impacted the corals so much that 80 % of them have died off ! Another problem is the bleaching of the corals. It is known that coral bleaching is caused by the discharge of the algae.

This topic is related to biology/science because this is pollution. The corals are dying due to the rise of temperatures caused by us. Global Warming is a major issue in science, especially today. The heating up of the worlds atmosphere is so prevalent in our society today but yet we have failed as a nation to come together and make changes.

Coral Reefs are very important to our ecosystem because they are homes to millions of fishes,
approximately 25% of marine life! People need to know about this crisis in Indonesia because researchers are now saying that this problem is spreading ! Scientists are saying that this "has affected reefs across Indonesia as well as in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and it is now pushing its way northward."
