Another reason why breastfeeding is beneficiary to mothers is that it reduces heart disease. The more calories it takes to produce breast milk, the more mothers eat to keep healthy. Breastfeeding also reduces rheumatoid arthritis by 20 percent when a woman nurses for a year to two years. The last thing that breastfeeding is a beneficiary factor for mothers is that nursing protects against type 2 diabetes.
