Ear infections are very serious. Ear infections happen when the pressure in the middle ear either becomes higher or lower than in the outer ear. The outer ear (the outside), is the part of the ear that is viewable. The middle ear is a closed chamber, that is filled with air and is separated by the ear drum from the outer ear. The middle ear is filled with air, by the Eustachian tube. Ear infections happen specifically because there is too much or too little fluid. When ear infections aren't serious, they are treated with antibiotics. If they are serious, then surgery will be used to fix the damage. Ear infections can cause serious damage when left untreated.
When kids get ear infections, they are very painful. Ear infections are common from toddlers up to kids that are 13 years and younger. This article was put on the magazine because many kids suffer from ear infections. The pain not also affects the children who are dealing with the infection, but also the parents. Also this article was put on the magazine, because this shows us that doctors are working on relieving the pain from the child. Kids with ear infections have pain, but when doctors take the device that will be used to cure them from the infection, more pain is inflicted. We should care because the device that doctors have created is a quicker and easier way to cure. Also we should care, because ear infections can lead to hearing loss. Lastly, we should care because the device may permanently stop ear infections from happening as much. Before, more than one instrument was used to treat the infection, which could make the ear bleed. Now, the new device is only 1, and takes the pain away fast. Less kids with ear infections, less pain to endure.
