Caterpillar Moves With Two Bodies.

caterpillars move using 2 bodies system called locomotion. meaning that the guts of the caterpillars slide forward before the rest of the Caterpillar moves. this type of movement called locomotion has never been recorded for other animals. this observation was accidentally discovered. Simon and his team at Tufts University research assistant in the Biomimetic devices laboratory wanted to see what happens inside a caterpillar when they move. they were using a sophisticated x-ray technology. instead they found out that at the start of the caterpillars crawl the guts would move in advance to the body wall and before attached limbs.

this is a biology related concept because its another observation that is taken to records and its a new discovery about animals and hoe they function.

people should care about this becuase this form of locomotion inspire new designs for soft-bodied robots.
